The Vestry of St. George’s Anglican Church, together with Bishop Derek Jones, is happy to announce the calling of the Rev. Dr. Nathan Weaver as our new Rector, beginning March 2026. We are deeply grateful for the way God has guided this process and for the joy of welcoming Father Nathan and his family into the life of our parish.
Father Nathan and his wife, Lauren, are the proud parents of three energetic boys—Ezra, Levi, and Jacob. Lauren’s primary calling is caring for their family, and she also serves part time as a Licensed Professional Counselor, where she brings compassion, wisdom, and a listening heart to those she serves.
Father Nathan has served in Anglican churches since 2021 and was ordained to the priesthood in 2022 by Bishop Derek Jones. Before becoming Anglican, he spent five years as a pastor in the United Methodist Church in West Virginia. He brings with him a deep love for the Church and the sacraments, a gift for preaching the Gospel in ways that connect with everyday life, and a pastoral heart for walking alongside people as they grow in faith. His ministry invites people of all ages and backgrounds to discover their God-given purpose and to follow Jesus more fully.
Father Nathan and Lauren see ministry as a shared calling. Together, they value hospitality, mentoring, and creating welcoming spaces where individuals and families feel known, supported, and encouraged to grow deeper in their life with Christ.
Father Nathan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from West Virginia Wesleyan College, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Direction from Asbury Theological Seminary. In addition to his parish work, he also serves as a Chaplain in the United States Air Force Reserves, offering spiritual care and support to service members and their families.
Please join us in extending a warm St. George’s welcome to Father Nathan, Lauren, and their sons as they begin this new chapter with us. We are excited to worship together, grow in faith, and serve the Auburn-Opelika community side by side in the months and years ahead.
We would love for you to meet Father Nathan and his precious family this Sunday at 11:15am as we worship and celebrate the Eucharist .
